Good morning Firenze!
I have to say, Italy is by far one of my favorite places to be. I spent most of my time in Rome but was glad to make a short trip to Florence. We were a little nervous about the weather as it was forecast to rain all day for the next couple of days. That was the case on our first day in Florence. Thank the Lord for a sunny day the next morning! We had a full day to explore the city and also do some shopping 🙂
Our boutique hotel was very conveniently located a few streets away from Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. Must admit, it was a great choice of location as we were able to visit the cathedral right before the tour groups crowded the area.
I was a little worried of the erratic weather, so I decided to play it safe and layered up. You see, I packed thinking that the temperature would be warm enough to prance around in shorts. I was wrong! 🙁 Although it was sunny in Florence, the temperature fluctuated throughout the day (reminded me of Melbourne days!). I had to work with what I had in my luggage and so I tried layering my tops.. and bottoms.
